The terms, without the legalese.

These terms cover Citestep — the desktop agent, the hosted workspace and review console, and this website — provided by Genfinish LLP (“we”, “us”). By buying a plan or using the software you agree to them, and to our privacy policy, which says what we collect and who processes it. You must be 18 or older. Citestep is sold to businesses and professionals for use in their work. Questions: support@genfinish.com.

1. What you're buying

• A plan is a prepaid bundle of recording minutes and SOPs — the numbers are on the pricing page. It does not expire. Buying again — any plan — adds its SOPs and minutes to what you have left, provided you pay with the same email address; a payment from a different address creates a separate account with its own key.
• The two limits are designed to run out together; whichever you reach first ends the plan. A minute is time spent recording — paused time is not counted. A recording longer than the minutes you have left is cut to what fits and processed as that.
• A recording that does not produce an SOP — too short, empty, or a processing failure — is not charged against your plan.
• As a safety limit, an account can start up to 10 recordings a day. This exists to stop a misbehaving machine from burning through a plan in an hour; if you genuinely need more, email us.

2. Your access key

• After payment you receive one access key by email, at the address you paid with. That key is your whole license — keep it private and don't share it.
• Every plan includes one PC seat: the key binds to the first PC it is used on. The review console needs no seat — open it from any browser with the same key.
• To move to another PC, use Resend my key. The previous key stops working and the new one binds to the next PC you paste it into.
• If we believe a key is being shared or used to get around the plan limits, we may rotate or deactivate it.

3. Your recordings

• The agent records your screen, microphone and clicks — and keystrokes only if you turn keyboard capture on; it is off by default — and uploads them to your Citestep workspace. Narration is transcribed on your PC when possible, otherwise on our server. Recordings are processed by third-party AI services to draft and verify the SOP. The privacy policy lists exactly what is collected and who processes it.
• Before upload, the agent blurs the sensitive fields it can detect on your machine — card numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, and password or one-time-code fields — and keystrokes typed into a password box are never recorded at all. Anything it cannot detect (a name on screen, a customer's address in a CRM window, what you say out loud) is uploaded as recorded. You are responsible for what you choose to record and for having the right to record and process it.
• Your recordings, transcripts and SOPs are yours. We use them only to provide and support the service — our founders can open your sessions to help you — and for nothing else. We do not sell them. You can delete a session from the review console.

4. The output

An SOP is a first draft generated by AI from your recording. It can be wrong, incomplete, or cite the wrong moment. Review it before you rely on it. You are responsible for how a generated document is used.

5. Availability

Citestep is in a pilot. During the pilot the Citestep server is online 9 am–5 pm IST. Outside those hours the agent says it can't reach the server and nothing is lost or charged — try again when it is back. Buying works at any hour; a purchase made overnight is set up when the server comes back. We don't guarantee uptime during the pilot; we'll say so on this page when that changes.

6. Payment and refunds

Payments are taken by Razorpay. Prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars; your card issuer may apply its own conversion and fees. All purchases are final: there are no refunds, including for unused plans and duplicate payments — see our refund policy. A second payment with the same email adds to your balance. Nothing in these terms or the refund policy limits rights you have under applicable consumer law, including where the service is defective or not as described.

7. What you agree not to do

• Record content you don't have the right to record or share.
• Share your key, or try to get around the seat binding or plan limits.
• Use Citestep to do anything unlawful.

We may deactivate an account that does any of these. Deactivated accounts are not refunded.

8. Our responsibility

Citestep is provided as is during the pilot. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the plan concerned, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and we email plan holders about anything material. Using Citestep after a change means you accept it.

10. Who we are, and where to complain

Citestep is a product of Genfinish LLP (LLPIN ACY-8116), a limited liability partnership registered in India.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
